These beautiful beads are made from Italian Cameo Coral Shells. These peaches and cream shell beads are graduated from 8 -17mm. They have been used for carving shell cameos for hundreds of years. They are a lovely natural coral color, hence they are also known as Cameo Coral and are often mistaken for coral. These are extra long 24" strands that are highly polished and very smooth. 

Now hard to find beads, these are from the 1970's. I am really excited to have found them, I haven't seen them in ten years.
