For sale here we have the dainty Payne Model 95 -- 6' 2/1 3wt. The rod is in excellent original condition except that one tip section was damaged between the tip-top and last snake guide and an invisible protective wrap was placed over this as a repair. Therefore, we are pricing this as a one-tip rod.

Moderately tempered cane with chestnut silks and gold tipping. Gold and purple at the winding check and male ferrules. Blued guides. Ring hook-keeper. Lightly swelled butt. Petite cigar grip 4 1/4" in length with moderate soiling. Blued cap and ring reel seat over a mortised Spanish Cedar spacer. The butt cap reads, "SOLD BY ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO. NEW YORK". 

The rod weighs a svelte 1.75 oz. The ferrules are size 8/64 with an excellent fit. The action is classic medium. A terrific brookie or cutthroat rod for those tiny blue lines on the map. Includes original bag and tube.
