94 Points, Mike Bennie (The Wine Front) - Carema, nebbiolo, though a clone of it called Picotendro. It hits the glass as a rosato, but, as importer Rody Hall likewise says, it’s kind of kin with orange wines. Super curious. And compelling. Only 36 bottles in Australia of this rare wine.This is really interesting/really good. It defies categorisation, hitting the glass with amber-garnet hue, pale though, a bit shiny, the scents and flavours between a dried citrus, curry powder, dried cherry, rooibos tea, cranberry drink. It’s got a green almond savouriness under all that, some aniseed and fennel too. It feels savoury, yet surprisingly bright, and shape shifts with time in the glass. Tannins stretch long, feel slate-like and distinctly drying. I had to go all the way with the bottle to get a handle on its chameleon-like feel. Hours of it. Unusual, refreshing, curious, compelling, delivering great satisfaction"

100% Nebbiolo late picked in late November - all Picotendro clone nebbiolo grown on terraces in Carema at altitude. 

A first for Muraje. Technically a rosato but a very serious & vinous expression which has some overlap in feel with orange wine due to its tannin & spice. Very idiosyncratic but very delicious especially if you are an adventurous drinker. 

Crushed rock nose. Pomegranate, cranberry, blood orange tang & burnt orange with so much aniseed character weaving through in true nebbiolo fashion.   An alpine herbal twang to close.  Deborah & Federico at Muraje implore the drinker not to serve too cold - and they are right for sure.
