I don’t have any information about this wine other than that it’s Beechowrth chardonnay from a single vineyard. I gleaned the $45 asking price from The Internet. Update: this chardonnay is aged in barriques, hence the word petit, where Sentio’s top range of chardonnays are aged in foudre and clay eggs.
It’s a pale straw colour with a tinge of green. That tinge is always a sight to admire. The thing I noticed most about this wine is its texture; it’s like velvet stretched tight. It tastes/smells of stone fruit and concrete, white flowers and cedar, perhaps some ginger, or at least spices with a juicy quiver to them. This wine feels smooth and secure but there’s also a tension, a nervousness. It has power and mouthfeel but its chief trait is that it’s interesting.
