A wonderfully expressive and broad-ranging nose offers up notes of plums, black cherries, floral hints that combine with moderate wood influence. This is a powerful, dense, concentrated yet impressively refined wine with plenty of inner mouth perfume as well as an abundance of palate coating old vine sap that serves to cushion the still quite firm tannic spine on the strikingly persistent finish. This is evolving glacially and certainly much slower than I originally foresaw but it should be a stunner of a Clos de Vougeot when it finally reaches its peak. 94/2022+
