A matching pair of George III silver salt cellars by William Cripps, London, 1770. One salt cellar is fully hallmarked with the maker's mark, London stamp and date stamp. The other cellar's marks have rubbed with the only remaining visible mark being the lion passant. Both cellars come complete with later blue liners and silver plated spoons.
The cellars show some tarnish and light wear commensurate with age but remain in a remarkably good condition overall. Both cellars sit well and have no significant dents to the body thus remain in their original attractive form.
A scarce set.
