This gorgeous ring features a round amethyst gemstone in the center of a marcasites.  The ring has an Art Deco design with a double row of bead set marcasites and milgrain accents.  The bezel set amethyst is nicely faceted and measures 5mm. 

Marcasite jewelry is style type of jewelry that includes setting tiny pieces of pyrite into silver designs. During the 18^th and the 19^th centuries, marcasite jewelry entered its “Golden age” in Europe. In the Victorian Era marcasite jewelry was made famous by Queen Victoria who wore it as a substitute of the much more expensive diamond jewelry.
