Lysine is an indispensable amino acid that cannot be made by the body. Amino acids form the basis for protein, which helps construct and maintain the critical structures in the body.

L-lysine supports the growth, maintenance and health of skin tissue. It promotes the integrity of skin and lips, and is used by the body to produce collagen. This formulation provides Free Form L-lysine to promote optimal absorption and assimilation.

Herpes Prevention and Treatment

Studies show lysine supplementation to speed recovery from, and prevent recurrence of, herpes infection. Benefits appear to be primarily due to the ability of lysine to antagonise arginine, which otherwise promotes herpes growth. Although research has primarily focused on herpes simplex, it is likely to be of value in other forms of herpes, such as shingles (herpes zoster).

Cardiovascular Protection

The formation of lesions in the arteries can lead to atherosclerosis, a precursor to heart disease.
