After being involved in a street brawl, Homicide detective Jessica Niemi is ordered to take leave from work and retreats to a remote island in the Âland archipelago to rest. Three elderly visitors also arrive - former refugees who fled Finland as children during the Second World War and stayed for a few months at the local orphanage. Jessica's peace is soon shattered when one of them is found dead, and she can't resist conducting an informal investigation of her own.
