Marshals encourage beginners to start with axes so they aren't discouraged quickly. A skull with flames trailing it is printed on the blade in red. The blade is stainless steel for maximum toughness and is black powder coated to resist corrosion. This axe is not only for target practice but the blade is sharpened to a pin point cutting edge. A lanyard hole is located at the end of the handle to tie on to your pack or use the handy nylon sheath to store all three and secure it to your belt with the belt loop. Two thumb ridges, one at the spine of the blade and one at the end of the handle, are positioned for maximum thrust no matter which style you choose to throw with.
